Meet Nicole

Even as a teenager, I always knew I would go into business for myself.  I was a stay-at-home mom for eleven years, working side jobs here and there.  Not one of the side jobs was my passion, though.

In December 2010, I decided to go to school.  My kids were all in grade school and I needed to do… something different.  I knew it wasn’t going to be easy becoming a full time student after staying home for so many years.   It was a decision that was very ‘out of character’ for me, but  I knew it was the right choice.

I was just a few weeks into school when I realized something I hadn’t expected:  I was becoming passionate about skin care!  I had always taken care of my skin, and had worked in cosmetics before, but I had never understood the intricacies of the industry until I went to school and learned the science behind it all.  I was fascinated to learn how all of the body’s organs and processes contributed to the health of the skin; how the layers of the skin worked and the function of each tiny layer; how skin became unbalanced and how to bring it back to a healthy state; how diet affected the skin; and, among so many other things, how products and their ingredients, when properly used and applied, could transform problem skin and help client’s to feel better than ever!

I graduated in June 2011 from Palomar Institute of Cosmetology, tested at the California State Board of Cosmetology, and I became licensed as an Esthetician.

I immediately went to work on building my business.  I knew I didn’t want to work in a traditional spa and I didn’t give that option even a second thought.  I needed to be able to run my own schedule, see my own clients, and use products that I really believed in!  Traditional spas are run on tight schedules, with little time to really connect with the client, meet their needs, and build a relationship.  I knew that I needed to be able to take my time with each client, to give each treatment that special ‘extra mile’.

With the decision made, and with the help of some very supportive family and friends, I was able to open Flawless Face & Body in September 2011!
